Teaser trailer for DC’s two-part animated film WATCHMEN

The first teaser trailer for DC’s two-part animation Guardians movie, and it looks like it will be a shot-for-shot adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ iconic graphic novel.

It has also been confirmed that the film will be a CG rendered film. The film is said to be a “leap forward for our DC Cinematic Animation” and the footage screened at the Annecy Film Festival was described as “very vibrant”.

Watchmen follows an alternate history in the United States where superheroes emerged in the 1940s, the United States won the Vietnam War, and the Watergate scandal was never revealed.

In the story, the United States and the Soviet Union are approaching World War III, while most of the superheroes work for the government or are retired.

It follows the moral struggle of superheroes Rorschach, Doctor Manhattan, Nite Owl and others as they come out of retirement to deal with the murder of Edward Blake, known as The Comedian, a state-sponsored superhero.

I was actually hoping this was a direct adaptation of the comic and I can’t wait to watch it!
