Frank Grillo’s new horror film WEREWOLVES will use practical effects

Franco Grillothe next horror movie Werewolves he’s got himself a distributor and it looks like it’s going to be a wild movie with handy werewolf effects!

In Werewolves, “a supermoon event triggers a latent gene in every human on the planet, transforming anyone who entered the moonlight into a werewolf for that night. Chaos ensued and nearly a billion people died. Now, one year later, the Supermoon is back.”

The film was purchased by Briarcliff Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group and will be released in theaters on December 6.

Myles Nestel, co-CEO of The Solution, said in a statement: “We are really excited to release Werewolves later this year exclusively in theaters. Our cast is incredible, from the extraordinary Frank Grillo to the powerful performances of Katrina Law and Ilfenesh Hadera.

He continued: “The practical use of werewolves designed and built by Alec Gillis AND Tom Woodruff Jr (known from the Alien and Predator series) brings the genre back to its roots in a fresh and exciting way. We hope audiences have as much fun watching the film in theaters as we had making it!”

The film has been described as The Purge… with werewolves, and it even has protagonists Katrina law (NCIS), Ilfenesh Hadera (Godfather of Harlem), James Michael Cummings (City on the hill) AND Lou Diamond Phillips (Prodigal Son).

The film was directed by Steven C. Miller (First kill, escape plan 2) from a screenplay written by Matthew Kennedy (Inheritance).
