ANT-MAN AND THE WASP writer Patrick Burleigh has adapted the beloved children’s book THE LAST BEAR by Hannah Gold

Patrick Burleighbest known for writing Marvel Eternals AND Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniamade a scripted adaptation of the award-winning children’s book The last bear Of Hannah Gold.

The producers, Ara Keshishian of ZQ Entertainment, Adrian Askarieh of Prime Universe Films and Matt Wexler of WexWorks media are now looking for a director to join the project.

Published by Harper Collins in 2021, the novel won the BBC’s Blue Peter Award and has become a fixture in school libraries and has been translated into over 27 languages. His sequel, In search of the bearit was also a bestseller when it was published last year.

“The story focuses on the unlikely friendship between 11-year-old April and a polar bear lost in the Arctic. As April grows increasingly distant from her widowed father, she decides to help the bear return to her place, at any cost, including risking her own life.

The novel mixes the adventure of life in the Arctic Circle with danger, excitement, and a touching exploration of April’s relationship with her father. There is also the backdrop of an inspiring exploration of the climate emergency.”
