LEGO reveals massive 5,471-piece Dark Tower of Mordor set

LEGO Group has revealed its whopping 5,471 piece The Lord of the Rings: Barad-Dûr set, which is inspired by the award-winning film adaptations.

Barad-Dûr is the epic dark tower with the Eye of Sauron and the building has many hidden fan “treasures” and film references from The Lord of the Rings.

The description reads: “Prepare to journey to the heart of Middle-earth with the unveiling of the spectacular LEGO Icons Lord of the Rings: Barad-Dûr set!

“With its impressive 5,471 pieces, this majestic masterpiece brings the dark tower of Mordor to life in astonishing detail, packed with exciting features and beloved characters from the timeless trilogy.

“The journey through the dark tower continues with the throne room, which includes a compartment that opens to reveal a map and a ladder to the top floor of the tower that can be moved left and right.”

At the top is the Eye of Sauron which rotates in various directions and features a light brick to make the eye glow. There are also 10 minifigures, including Sauron, Mouth of Sauron, Orc, Frodo, Sam, Gollum and Gothmog.

Additionally, purchases made between June 1st and June 7th will receive a free LEGO® Icons Lord of the Rings: Fell Beast set, featuring poseable wings and joints and a Nazgul minifigure.

The Lord of the Rings: Barad-Dûr set will be available for purchase on June 4, 2024.
