Netflix has released the full trailer for Eddie Murphyit’s the long awaited comedy, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. Murphy is back as Detective Axel Foley and finds himself on another wild adventure in the land of 90210.
The last time we saw Murphy in this role was in the 1994 film Beverly Hills Cop IIIwhich was directed by John Landis. It looks like the new movie could be funny and the makers are definitely trying to bring some comedic energy.
In the film, “Detective Axel Foley is back on the hunt in Beverly Hills. After her daughter’s life is threatened, she and Foley team up with a new partner and old friends Billy Rosewood and John Taggart to raise the heat and uncover a conspiracy.
Taylor Paige plays the daughter of Foley’s criminal defense lawyer who drags her father into a California-based case, where he will cause trouble for Kevin Baconis the officer of the LAPD’s special unit and teams up with a new partner, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Previously there was talk about the film and Murphy’s collaboration with Gordon-Levitt, producer Jerry Bruckheimer she said: “He gets stuck with Axel and they are hysterical together. Joseph is a great straight man for Eddie.
The producer goes on to talk about the tone of the film, saying, “It’s about emotions. No matter how funny it is, how much action it has, it’s all about the heartstrings.
The film is directed by Marco Molloy. Murphy is also joined in the film by Taylor Paige, Judge Reinhold, Paolo Reiser, Bronson Pinchotand more.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F will arrive on Netflix on July 3.
