At the end of March, Konami released Speed Duel GX: Mid-Term Destruction. This is a new box of four preconstructed decks for Yu-Gi-Oh! Speed Duel based on the characters of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. The idea is that you and three friends can buy a box and immediately play a small tournament at home and that’s not bad. The four decks are: Neo-Space with Jaden, Arcana Force with Sartorius, Dinosaurs with Hassleberry, and Fossil with Jim Crocodile Cook. There are a couple of nice cards throughout the set like Pot of Avarice, Dandylion and Paleozoic Canadia and as always you can use Speed Duel cards in the TCG which is appreciated.
In addition to the four decks, duelists receive four Secret Rare upgrades out of the 20 possible in the set and a 2-player playmat. I think these boxes could be a great bit of weekend fun with friends. That said, it’s really better if you and your friends actually like the characters featured.
