Pedro Pasquale AND Beautiful Ramsey are back as Joel and Ellie in the first photos released for the second season of The last of us.
Also includes returning cast Gabriele Luna like Tommy, and Rutina Wesley like Mary. The new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Mercede like Dina, The young Mazino like Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle in the role of Nora, Spencer Lord like Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars.
The story takes place 20 years after modern civilization was destroyed by a deadly virus. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone to the Fireflies, a cure-seeking organization.
What begins as a small job soon becomes a brutal and harrowing journey, as both must cross the United States and depend on each other for survival.
The debut season set a record as HBO’s most-watched first season for any series on the service, as well as garnering eight Emmy awards.
The last of us is written and produced by Craig Mazin AND Neil Druckmann. Both also directed episodes of the first season and returned to develop the next season.
The second season will be released in 2025.
