Carrie-Anne Moss is set to Arnold Schwarzenegger in the second season of the Netflix action comedy series Fubar. She will take on the role of a former East German spy, “who has a passionate affair with Schwarzenegger’s CIA agent.”
The first season of the show was a lot of fun and was a huge success for the streaming service. I can’t wait to see what season 2 has in store! Moss will be a great addition to the cast!
The first season of Fubar follows CIA agent Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) who discovers a family secret that brings him back into the field and delays his retirement plans. He is “forced to return to the field for one last job, FUBAR tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humor.”
In the second season of the series, “After his last mission in saving another agent – who happened to be his daughter – he returned and comes face to face with new villains. This is an old flame from Luke’s past who threatens to destroy the world… if he doesn’t destroy his life first.”
Nick Santora (Reacher, Escape) is the creator, showrunner and executive producer of Fubar. Schwarzenegger also serves as executive producer.
Schwarzenegger previously said of the show: “Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to make another big action comedy like True Lies. Well, here it is. FUBAR will kick your ass and make you laugh – and not just for two hours. You have a whole season.”
Santora said: “FUBAR is, by far, the most surreal project of my career. I grew up watching Arnold Schwarzenegger films: I would ask my father for a few dollars so I could run to the cinema and see the biggest star.” in the world on the big screen, so creating Arnold’s first scripted television project is incredibly exciting for me.
“The thing that always amazed me was how funny Schwarzenegger could be while still kicking ass… that’s why I wanted FUBAR to be a hysterical, CIA espionage comedy mixed with heart-pounding action! And it is all of this – and more. I’d like to go into more detail, but sorry, it’s confidential.”
