We know that each brushing should last 2 to 3 minutes and should be done at least twice a day. But unless you set a timer, it’s hard to know when to stop or simply load from the side, to get even brushing. Result? We don’t brush our teeth long enough, and some areas of our mouth are cleaner than others. To avoid this problem, electric toothbrushes are equipped with a vibration system or sound alerts. We’ll explain what they are for and it might surprise you.
Alerts for successful brushing
In order for tooth brushing to be complete, it is important to do it a little at a time so as not to fight plaque and not to forget any corners. To make this task easier for us, the electric toothbrush emits a vibration or sound every 30 seconds to warn us that we need to move to another part of the mouth. Once the four corners (internal and external) have been adequately brushed, the electric toothbrush will emit 5 vibrations (or 5 sounds) to announce that the session is over. It doesn’t get more complicated than that.

A particularly useful option for children
If adults know approximately and almost instinctively how long they should brush their teeth, children need more instructions. This is precisely what these small tones or vibrations emitted by the electric toothbrush are for. For the little ones, some of them can also connect to a smartphone or tablet to follow brushing step by step by offering fun games that can only be completed by brushing their teeth correctly. The idea? Offer them good habits, allowing them to have fun and learn. Not stupid.
