HBO has released an epic full trailer for the second season of its fantasy epic House of the Dragon. The trailer came out not long after the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power hit the Internet.
HBO’s marketing team obviously looked at it and thought, “Oh yeah… look what we have.” But hey, there’s room for multiple epic fantasy shows! I will watch both of them and the second season of House of the Dragon it looks amazing!
The series is based on George R. R. MartinThe Fire & Blood series, set 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen. He is preparing the epic war between the Targaryens and the Hightowers.
Speaking previously about what fans can expect from season two, director Chiara Kilner said: “There are eight wonderful episodes where so much happens in each episode.
“Sometimes we have trouble getting them down to an hour. (Showrunner) Ryan Condal’s The decision was to give it a good opening and a good ending, and they’re chock-full of emotional and visually exciting events.”
Kilner added, “I’m excited to pick up where we left off. Now we can fall into the more traditional rhythms of storytelling and storytelling.” game of Thrones. We’ve always talked about this particular story, George [R.R. Martin] it also has to be a Shakespearean or Greek tragedy.
“This series is mostly about a house falling apart from the inside. Now that all these pieces have been put on the board, I’m really excited to tell the next chapter, to see what happens now that Viserys is gone and can’t keep a lid on things anymore.”
Season 2’s returning cast is Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eva Migliore, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya MizunoAND Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast includes Harry Collet, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson HallAND Matthew Needham.
New cast members include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Freedom as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew like Ugo, Tom Bennett in the role of Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincenzo Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.
House of the Dragon Season two will premiere on HBO and Max on June 16.
