Andy Serkis joins Woody Harrelson in WWII thriller THE MAN WITH MIRACULOUS HANDS

Andy Serkis (Planet of the Apes, The Lord of the Rings) has joined the cast of the World War II psychological thriller The man with miraculous handsalong with his co-star in the previous cast Woody Harrelson (Greetings, True detective).

Oren Movermann he wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, based on a true story and set in 1939.

According to the film’s plot: “Felix Kersten (Harrelson), a renowned apolitical medical masseuse, becomes the personal doctor of one of the most powerful and feared men in Nazi Germany: the chronically ill Heinrich Himmler (Serkis), head of the SS and principal architect of the Holocaust.

“As war rages across Europe and Himmler’s health worsens as his authority grows, Kersten finds herself in a unique position to influence decision-making at the highest levels within the Third Reich.

“By playing a very dangerous game that could cost him his life at any moment, and using his medical skills as a weapon, the doctor manages to influence Himmler, turn him against Hitler and, in return, save many thousands of lives.”

The film is still in development, but is expected to move into production with a supporting cast and release date revealed soon.
