Keanu Reeves he is very confident that if he and Sandra Bullock he made a third Speed movie, they would make a great action movie.
During a joint interview on the 50 MPH podcast, Reeves was asked about the possibility of Speed 3and he said, “I mean, you know, we would freaking knock it out of the park.”
Bullock went on to say that she needs to work with Reeves again before she dies. The last time they worked together was in the 2006 film, The house by the lake.
Speaking about their on-screen presence together, Bullock said: “There’s no formula. It just is. Before we die, before we leave this planet, I think Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera. Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Perhaps. Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?
Reeves added: “It feels like there’s a siren call, like there’s something that hasn’t been done. I would love to work with you again before our eyes close.
It would be really great to see these two talents star in another film, but who knows if it will be Speed 3. It could be any kind of movie and I think audiences would show up.
Bullock continued speaking Speed 2: Cruise control, saying: “I’m still embarrassed that I was there. That’s something I wish I hadn’t done and no fan would have come out with except you.”
Reeves turned down the offer to appear in Speed 2 because the script sucked. He had previously said: “At the time I didn’t respond to the script. I really wanted to work with Sandra Bullock, I loved playing Jack Traven, and I loved “Speed,” but an ocean liner? I had nothing against the artists involved, but at the time I had the feeling that it just wasn’t right.”
Reeves went on to talk about the on-screen chemistry between him and Bullock, saying, “We had an affection. And the characters themselves have an affection. I think Jack and Annie’s is different than Sandra and Keanu’s, but I think we played off each other and I think it was just fun. I also think we trusted each other, right?”
Bullock added: “Yes. I mean, people have real relationships in movies, and you don’t feel something between them. And then people can hate each other in movies and you’re like, ‘That was thrilling,’ you know?”
He continued: “We didn’t look at each other in this movie except maybe three or four times, because we were constantly fighting the elements. And I think that’s also what made it so electric, is that, watching it, I guess you want them to connect. It was a really clever setup, to keep people separated. Foreplay, I guess.”
She concluded: “But I felt very comfortable with Keanu. There was nothing I couldn’t feel, do or say that he, I felt, wouldn’t fight to make me do, say or feel, and that kind of trust is very rare with actors. Every time I threw something at him, he’d throw it back and you’d just say, “Okay, here’s my partner.”
The Speed writer previously hinted at a ridiculous idea for a third film, saying, “I think what Keanu said was, ‘If the script was good enough,’ and that’s what it really comes down to.” I mean, what do you do? My old line for Speed 3 was, “This time it’s 60,” and that’s it. Just a little faster, but it’s still the same damn thing and everyone involved is 60 It’s like when you see John Wick, every one of them is basically the same movie, but they’re great, I like them, they’re brutal.”
Would you like to see Reeves and Bullock star in a new movie together one day?
