Michelle Yeoh will star in the limited series BLADE RUNNER 2099

Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) has embarked on its next big franchising project with Prime Video Blade Runner 2099which is a limited series sequel following the events of Blade Runner 2049.

While there are no story details to share, we know from the title that the story will be set 50 years after the sequel, which is set 30 years after the original. It will be interesting to see what this series ends up being.

Ridley Scott is producing the project and will reportedly direct some episodes of the show as well. Amazon Studios also hired the director Jeremy Podeswa (Station 11, game of Thrones) to direct the pilot episode.

Silka Luisa (Shiny girls) will serve as writer, showrunner and executive producer. Michele Verdewho wrote the film Blade Runner 2049will serve as non-writing executive producer, alongside the co-founders of Alcon Entertainment Andrea Kosove AND Broderick Johnson.

Other producers include Alcon’s head of television Ben Roberts, David W. Zucker AND Clayton Krueger by Scott Free Productions, Cynthia Yorkin, Franco GiustraAND Isa Dick Hackett. Tom Spezialy are part of the writer’s room and will also serve as executive producer.

Production recently started abroad, in Prague.
