THE LEGEND OF ZELDA director will go “to the ends of the earth” to make sure it’s great

The live-action director Legend of Zelda movie, Wes Ball, is taking on a huge challenge to tell an epic fantasy story about the rumored Nintendo character, Link. But he’s committed to making an incredible film.

During a recent interview with The Direct, Ball explained how important this movie is to him, saying, “We’re working on it. I think it’s going to be great. The fans are going to be happy. Legend of Zelda, to me, is one of the most important things in my life. life, you know, after Star Wars.”

He added: “I played Legend of Zelda from my childhood into adulthood. You know what I mean? I’m a fan. I’m another fan. I will go to the ends of the earth to make sure it’s the movie we all hope it is.”

I’m really rooting for Ball because I would love nothing more than to see him achieve an incredible result Legend of Zelda movie.

During a previous interview, the director shared that he’s looking for a film that’s both serious and whimsical: “I have this great idea. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, how great a Zelda movie would be.” … I want to fulfill people’s greatest desires.”

He continued: “I know this is important [Zelda] franchise, to people and I want it to be a serious film. A real film that can give people an escape. That’s the thing I want to try to create: it has to feel like something real. Something serious and beautiful, but fun and whimsical.”

Ball also previously explained that the film will be more inspired by the work of Hayao Miyazaki and less similar The Lord of the Rings.

Ball said: “This fantastic fantasy-adventure film that’s not like Lord of the Rings, it’s its own thing. I’ve always said I’d like to see a live-action Miyazaki. That wonder and whimsy that he brings to things, I would love to see something like that.”

He went on to explain, “It’s going to be amazing. My whole life has been leading up to this moment. I grew up with Zelda and it’s the most important property, I think, that’s untapped intellectual property, if you will.

“So we are working hard to do something. We’re not trying to do it just because we can. We want to do something really special.”

Nintendo and Sony Pictures are co-producing the film, with Derek Connolly (Jurassic world) writing the screenplay.

The Legend of Zelda follows the adventures of a young hero named Link, who is often tasked with saving Princess Zelda and fighting the evil villain Ganon.

Fans love the game for its challenging open-world exploration, intricate puzzles, and rich storytelling.
