The upcoming Cyberpunk video game Gun Fu SPINE will also receive film and television adaptations

The next cyberpunk video game Vertebral column will go beyond just gaming as developer Nekki has partnered with Story Kitchen to produce film and television adaptations.

The game is “a female-driven cyberpunk Gun Fu story set in a dystopian world. The main character, Redline, is an adventurous street artist who fights against an autocratic artificial intelligence regime—and its henchmen—to rescue her captive brother.

Who doesn’t love a bit of gun fu!? Nekki CEO Dmitry Terekhin said in a statement: “We are delighted to begin our journey with Story Kitchen. We believe the truly great stories always stand out, and the Vertebral column Universe will captivate audiences across all media.”

Story Kitchen’s Dmitri Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Timothy I. StevensonAND Dan Jevons in a joint statement: “When we first heard about this upcoming game from Nekki, we lost our minds because Redline couldn’t be more badass!”

Nekki is planning an entire media franchise built around the world of the game, including post-release DLC, comics, a board game, and merchandise. The company also released nine episodes of a Vertebral column webtoon.

By rights no writer or director is connected to the project. Vertebral column it will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox, but there is no release date.
