This is our reaction video to the footage shared at CinemaCon M. Night Shyamalan AND Josh Hartnettis the new horror thriller Trap! The War movie screened during the Warner Bros. presentation.
Shyamalan described the film as a “psychological thriller set at a concert.” Hartnett plays a father who attends a concert with his daughter, and all hell breaks loose when law enforcement specifically stages the concert to capture a serial killer on the loose.
Looks like it’s going to be a good Shyamalan movie! I’m pretty excited about this!
Hartnett previously explained that working on the film was a career highlight for him due to his experience making films and his admiration for Shyamalan.
He said: “It’s a pivot, but I try to make all my roles pivot. If you always play the same thing, it becomes boring for the audience. Working with M. Night has been one of the best experiences of my career.”
He added: “I think he is a true Capitoline Artist in the sense of the word. And I think people will be really surprised and excited about the movie that we make. It’s very bizarre, very dark and it’s wild.”
Speaking about it in the past, Shyamalan said: “It’s very unusual and very new to what I’ve tried to do [recently]but I’m really excited about the story, so much so that I can’t wait to tell it to you guys.”
The film is scheduled for release on August 2, 2024
