Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastmann returned to Marvel Comics and released a variant cover for the next comic Wolverine: Blood Hunt #1.
The cover shows Logan battling a horde of bloodthirsty vampires. Also featured in the piece is Louise, who is part of Nightguard, Wolverine’s mysterious new ally who fought alongside him in a personal war against the vampire nation.
The comic comes from the writer Tom Waltz and celebrated Wolverine artist Juan Jose Ryp. Waltz will make his Marvel Comics debut after working Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesIncluded Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin.
Waltz said in a statement: “I’ve spent much of my career writing about iconic mutants, so my Marvel debut will be an opportunity to put ‘the best there is’ through a vampiric bloodstorm in Wolverine: Blood Hunt it’s an absolute thrill of a lifetime.”
Waltz also spoke about the rest of the creative team, saying, “It’s made even better by being able to do it alongside the talented Juan José Ryp, top-notch colorist GURU-eFX, and stellar editors Mark Basso and Drew Baumgartner.”
He added: “Blood, bullets, claws and fangs – nothing is held back in our four-issue gore challenge.”
Eastman said: “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to join my ‘Last Ronin Bro’ Tom Waltz in his first Wolverine story! I was lucky enough to be invited to add a cover to the issue and do my little part to the incredible team that brought this issue to life. The story is fantastic, the art is fantastic – I can’t wait for all of you to sink your teeth into this!”
