BrettsArtWorld’s stunning artwork features beautiful mashups between classic pieces and fan-favorite characters

One of the coolest things I saw at Wonder-Con last week was the artwork at Brett Bennett’s booth. My whole family stopped to look at the pieces, because there was something for everyone. The kids loved the Kirby pieces, as well as the fun Baymax and Pillsbury Doughboy mashups. We admired DC Jokers playing poker, Mr. Potato Head lending an ear to Van Gogh, and Slimer in The Shining. The pieces were a feast for the eyes. But the one that stopped me dead in my tracks and took my breath away was Ruby Bridges on her famous walk to school in 1960, but in this piece she is escorted by Black Panther, M’Baku, Okoye and Shuri.

When I asked Brett about this piece, he told me that he thought it would have been much better if she had been escorted by Black Panther warriors that day. I had to purchase a print for myself, which came on 8×8 canvas and is now displayed in my living room.

Check out Brett’s artwork in his Etsy shop and follow him on Instagram @brettsartworld and on Facebook.
