SPIDER-MAN star Kirsten Dunst would return for GONE HOME; She says the firm tried to change her appearance

There were rumors before Spider-Man: No Way Home that was released Spiderman star Kirsten Dunst she would reprise her role as Mary Jane Watson in the film. As you know, she never showed up, but she would have if Marvel had asked her!

During an interview with GQ, Dunst was asked if Marvel or Sony had ever contacted her about a possible return, and she replied, “No, no…I would.”

As for how she’d like to revisit the character, she says, “It would be fun to say, OK, let’s take Tobey [Maguire] and I do it in a weird independent way, like it’s a different kind of superhero movie. How they made that movie News. It could be nice.

While it would be an interesting idea, I seriously doubt the studios would want to take the franchise in that direction.

When you reflect on the 2002 filming SpidermanDunst says the genre “was more innocent, I think. Sam Raimi he was like a cult director, so it felt like we were making an independent film disguised as a superhero film.”

At the same time, Dunst recalls how some people involved in the film repeatedly attempted to change his appearance.

At one point, a producer took her, unannounced, to the dentist and encouraged Dunst to get her teeth straightened. “I was like, ‘No, I like my teeth.’” He IS crazy! There was nothing wrong with his teeth! Who are these people?!

The actress went on to say that after wearing dark lipstick and a black dress to the London premiere of Spider-Man, “The studio said, ‘It looks very goth.’ And they didn’t like that, probably because they wanted me to look like a sexy young woman who would appeal to a wider range of people than anyone who gets a seat in the theater. I was never that girl. I never did.”

It seems Dunst had to deal with some strange people during filming Spiderman! This included being called a “girly girl” on the film set.

She previously shared that she would love to join the MCU, saying, “You know I would join that multiverse! I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t gotten into it. I’m like, ‘Please get me in. Get me in the lineup.’ ‘ I have to pay for my house and my children.”

Who knows, maybe Marvel and Sony will finally manage to make a Spider-Man 4 film with Tobey Maguire for which he may return.
