Seth Green plays Harry the Evil Hat in the trailer for the horror comedy HANKY PANKY

Here’s a fun trailer for a new horror comedy called Hanky ​​Panky which follows a “man and a talking napkin save the world from an evil top hat and also learn to love.” Seth Green plays Harry the Evil Hat. It seems like a silly, fun genre film made with no budget and was directed by Lindsey Haun AND Nick Roth.

The makers talk about the film saying, “Hanky ​​Panky it was inspired by the way people like certain crazy comedies Hot and humid American summer AND Caddyshack seemed to capture the energy of locking the entire cast and crew together in, say, a summer camp or a coke-fueled hotel in the middle of a hurricane in Florida with Chevy Chase — and then somehow bringing that energy on the screen.

They added details about how the film was made saying, “We shot Hanky ​​Panky at Lindsey’s father’s cabin in the mountains above Heber, Utah, where the entire cast and crew huddled together, at 8,000 feet elevation, during the most intense blizzard ever recorded there. It was a true anarcho-communist guerrilla production: literally no budget, no one got paid, everyone pitched in for food and drugs, and now we all own the film cooperatively.

They continued: “We shot it with a camera that our team won with a short film at Slamdance in 2015. A friend who shoots porn lent us his lights. By far our biggest expense was that Lindsey backed her car into Nick’s in the blizzard and knocked out a headlight, so the repair cost us about $900. It was crazy. Everyone went a little crazy. Some of us have gone a little crazy. Our hope is that some of that fun and infectious madness has made it to the screen.”
