Director Paolo Feig (Freaks and misfits, Bridesmaids, The office) will return to direct the sequel A simple favor 2which will see the return of the stars Blake Lively AND Anna Kendrick in the lead roles, as well as castmates Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian HoAND Kelly McCormack.
Now it has been revealed that the actress is an Oscar and Emmy Award winner Allison Janney (The West Wing, I, Tonya) is in talks to join the sequel as well. Once the agreement is signed, she too will join the new arrivals Elena Sofia Ricci, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Aparna Nancherla, Taylor OrtegaAND Lorenzo De Moro.
In the sequel, we see the return of Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) as they head to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman. Along with glamorous guests, expect RSVP murder and betrayal for a wedding with more twists and turns than the road from Marina Grande to Capri’s square.
The screenplay, based on the characters of Darcy Bellwas written by Jessica Sharperwho wrote the first film, with revisions by Laeta Kalogridis and Feig.
I enjoyed the first film and can’t wait to see what they do to move the story forward with the second film. Stay tuned for a release date.
