The first teaser trailer for the upcoming R-rated horror film Bambi has arrived. Bambi: The Showdown. The film comes from the team behind it Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey.
The film follows “Xana (Roxanne McKee) and his son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who find themselves in a car accident and soon hunted by the ferocious killing machine, Bambi.”
Director DanAllen (Unhinged) shared in a statement: “It’s going to be terrifying. When people see a deer in the wild after this movie, they will run for the hills. This film is as much about the death of childhood as it is about the ruin of childhood. Expect bloodshed, tears and rabbits… and a cruel killer deer. Finally, the British countryside will finally have its Godzilla.”
The film will be produced by Rhys Frake-Waterfield AND Scott Jeffreywho said: “The film will be an incredibly dark retelling of the 1928 story we all know and love. Taking inspiration from the design used in Netflix’s The Ritual, Bambi will be a ferocious killing machine lurking in the wilds. Get ready for Bambi about anger!”
The film is part of the “Twisted Childhood Universe”, called Poohniverse, which will also include the previously announced films. Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare AND Pinocchio without strings and introduce new characters like Sleeping Beauty, The Mad HatterAND Rabbit from Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey.
All these characters will come together Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble in 2025, when monsters join forces to take down the world.
Bambi: The Showdown will be released in the fall of 2024 and will be another ridiculous movie.
