Edward Furlong says he was originally in the cast of TERMINATOR 3, but lost the role after dying of an overdose

Edward Furlong recently appeared on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside of You, and during the show he talked about being in a movie like Terminator 2: Judgment Day when he was 14 and what it was like for him

One thing he mentioned was that he ran away from home at 13 before he started shooting Terminator due to a family full of abuse, mental illness and addiction. He also talked about his addiction problems.

Furlong also told the story of how he was originally supposed to reprise his role as John Connor Terminator 3and how he missed that opportunity.

The initial multimillion-dollar contract he signed with the studio included a clause that he was not allowed to do drugs.

After revealing it, he said: “And I remember, literally, it was a great deal, it was the best deal I had ever gotten in my life. It was like a lot of money. Millions, yes millions. And I had never made that much money.”

He says: “So I called my friends and said, ‘guys, I just signed a damn amazing contract. We’ll go to the club. We’ll get a lot of hits and get shit done, that’s all! This is the end, man! We’re fucking going to do it.’”

It was during this binge that everything fell apart. She talks about how she allegedly smelled coke from the toilet and spilled it and ended up smelling everything she spilled. Not long after, she explained, “he woke up.”

He shared that experience by saying, “The lights, so embarrassing, the lights in the club were on. People are around me. My friend cries, he holds me in his arms and I ask him ‘what happened?’ And he says, “Dude, you overdosed.” And I was like, ‘I didn’t overdose, what are you talking about!?’”

He goes on to confirm that he suffered from OD and was in disbelief at what was happening. He explained that the ambulance arrived: “It was so embarrassing!?” Then the news took over.

He said: “Of course! I’m like I missed the movie. We won’t do it with you. That’s all! And I thought, I’m so sorry! But it didn’t matter.

Since that experience, Furlong’s life has gone into a downward spiral, but ultimately, at this moment, he is happy and sober. He managed to get out of the darkness that he was in, which is fantastic.
