Frankie Munizthe star of the hit sitcom Malcolm in the middle he recently opened up about an experience he had while filming the series and revealed why he walked off the show’s set and didn’t appear in two episodes.
During an interview with News.com.au, the actor shared: “There were two episodes I wasn’t in. I walked off set.” It is explained that tension on set had reached boiling point, due to the behavior of other “certain people”, and Muniz would not tolerate it.
She continued, “Everyone was so afraid to stand up when some people were controlling, rude, or disrespectful. As if they were walking on pins and needles. I was so mortified to see people who were afraid to speak up, that I thought, “Say something.”
Muniz added: “I didn’t care if they told me I would never go back, because for me it was worth it. It helped that the show was based on me.
I love that Muniz stood up for himself and the other cast members in that situation! He went on to talk about leaving entertainment and how much happier he is since he ditched Hollywood and left Los Angeles.
Muniz went on to explain, “I never felt like I was completely plugged into the world of Hollywood, even though I was in the world. I was nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes, and I was going to all these things, and I was there, and I was like, how am I here?
He continued: “I hated Los Angeles, so I stayed in my own little world, in my own little bubble. And moving to Arizona, I did on a whim, and I quickly realized that I started to look up. I started to enjoy looking at the trees and birds in the sky. Going to the grocery store was fun. You don’t get that in Los Angeles. It’s a miserable experience.”
I don’t blame him. Good for Muniz, and it’s great that life has been a good experience for him since he got out of Los Angeles!
