Roadside has released a crazy must-see Red-Band trailer for the bloody upcoming action film The boy kills the world! This movie looks amazing! It seems like the more he punches you in the face, the better!
I got to see a five-minute clip of the movie during WonderCon this past weekend, and this movie is completely bonkers! It’s going to be amazing to watch it on the big screen, and this latest trailer teases just how amazingly shocking it is!
The film comes from the producer Sam Raimiwas directed by Moritz Mohrand stars Bill Skarsgard (It) AND Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day ). They are united by Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelmann, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhianwith Andrea Koji, Sharlto Copley, AND Famke Janssen. The film is also narrated by H. Jon Benjamin (Archer), which is the voice in Boy’s head.
During the WonderCon panel, the creative team talked about how difficult it was to find financing for this film due to how different and unique it is. They are very proud of this film and how it is different from any other action film ever made.
Skarsgård plays Boy, “who vows revenge after his family is murdered by Hilda Van Der Koy (Janssen), the deranged matriarch of a corrupt post-apocalyptic dynasty that has left the boy orphaned, deaf and voiceless.”
“Driven by his inner voice, which he co-opted from his favorite childhood video game, Boy trains with a mysterious shaman (Ruhian) to become an instrument of death and is freed on the eve of the annual cull of dissidents. Chaos ensues as Boy commits bloody martial arts mayhem, inciting a wrath of carnage and bloodshed. As he tries to find his way in this delirious realm, Boy soon falls in with a desperate resistance group, all the while feuding with the apparent ghost of his rebellious little sister.
Speaking about what inspired the film, the director said: “We talked a lot about what we loved. I love old kung-fu movies. I love Asian cinema. I play a lot of video games and read a lot of manga. Anime has a big influence. But also the shitty Saturday morning cartoons that I loved growing up. I knew I wanted to make a revenge movie with a deaf protagonist, but that was literally the only constant.”
The boy kills the world will be released in theaters on April 26, 2024! Enjoy the trailer!
