GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE has a stellar opening weekend at the box office

Director Adam Wingard’S Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire had a highly successful opening weekend at the box office, grossing over $80 million domestically and a total of $194 million globally. I was curious to see how this movie would do with these big tentpoles and superhero and genre movies have struggled but Godzilla x Kong I managed to avoid it and bring the money!

On top of that, the film currently has an A-CinemaScore, which I wasn’t expecting for this film. I have yet to see it, but audiences are clearly enjoying it. Maybe this movie might turn out to be better than I expected. I don’t know, as you know I wasn’t thrilled with this movie because the last two movies were pretty terrible. I finally watched it, but I’m in no rush.

Some other information comes from PostTrak which states: “96% said the film met or exceeded their expectations. 48% said they went to see the film because it looked fun and exciting, while another 45% said it was part of a franchise they loved. 72% want to see a sequel. What drove viewers to go and see GxK: 17% said it was the online trailer, 14% said it was the theatrical trailer, 14% gave credit to social media, while another 14% said they were encouraged by friends and family.

Godzilla x Kong Producer Mary Parent said: “We wanted to offer something that was very entertaining for the audience. Nobody has a crystal ball. You can only hope and dream. So, seeing this result globally is really beautiful and exciting.”

In the film, “The Epic Battle Continues! Legendary Pictures’ Monsterverse film follows the explosive clash of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new adventure that pits the all-powerful Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal unknown threat hidden in our world, which puts their very existence… and ours to the test. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire delves further into the stories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, uncovering the mythical battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and forever bind them to humanity.

The film is the protagonist Rebecca Sala (Godzilla vs. Kong), Brian Tyree Henry (Godzilla vs. Kong), Dan Stevens (Legion), Kaylee Hottle (Godzilla vs. Kong), Alex Felci (The Batman) AND Fala Chen (Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).

If you watched Godzilla x Kong, let me know what you think! It’s really a good movie!?
