Here’s the trailer for a very strange Japanese independent sci-fi horror comedy called Foreign matter. The film focuses on strange creatures that cause an intense sense of pleasure in people.
In the film, “Mysterious octopus-like aliens suddenly appear in people’s homes and trigger an acute sense of pleasure in them. Soon the whole of Japan will be littered with tingling creatures and they can be found on every street corner. They have long been part of everyday life when their explosive proliferation takes a dramatic turn. A gem of a genre mix created from a short series with absurd humor, shot in evocative black and white images and accompanied by fantastic music.
In the story, “Materia Estranea” (strange tentacled creatures), appears out of nowhere in front of two couples who don’t get along, former lovers and workers and influences their thoughts and lives.
Foreign matter is written and directed by Ken’ichi Ugana and stars the film Kaoru Koide, Shunsuke Tanaka, Nina Sakura, Megumi Haruno, Adonis CongratulationsAND Rino. The director describes the film as an “arthouse sci-fi existential hentai comedy.”
The film will be released directly to VOD on March 26, 2024.
