The sequel to the 2006 comedy John Tucker must die is in development and the news was confirmed by the cast during a panel at Epic Cons in Chicago. Cast members in attendance were included Arielle Kebbel, Jesse MetcalfeAND Sofia Bush.
The cast showed up to commemorate ‘s 18th birthday John Tucker must die and during the panel, the cast members spread the news about the sequel, and are ready to come back to hear it.
Metcalfe told the audience he had heard “there’s a script” and added: “I’ve heard rumors about this script going around Hollywood – apparently it’s amazing.” Although he hasn’t read the script, Metcalfe said, “I would definitely love to be a part of it and I can’t wait to read it.”
Kebbel confirmed that a script would involve the original cast, saying, “The rumor is true. I started producing a few years ago. There’s a script. We’re very proud of it. It involves the whole OG cast.”
Bush then chimed in and said she’s “ready to go” with the film. Kebbel added that the script also “casts a very interesting new cast” and that “Jesse may or may not get a chance to change, which would be very exciting.”
No details about the film’s plot have been shared. Kebbel said, “That’s about all I can say for now.” He then thanked the fans for their “enthusiasm” which he said “is definitely inspiring and it’s a big part of all of this, and definitely, definitely it’s been a very special thing to see the love and support of all of this almost 20 years later.”
