Frankie Muniz Says MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE Reboot Is Closer Than Ever and Addresses Delay

A reboot of the fan-favorite sitcom Malcolm in the middle has been in talks with the Emmy-winning TV dad for quite some time Bryan Cranston making several references that we could expect to see the show return soon, but there’s nothing official scheduled yet. Now, the star of the show, Frankie Munizwho played the show’s namesake, is giving us new hope.

The child actor and current professional race car driver told Pedestrian.tv about the revival:

“Without giving too much away because there’s nothing confirmed, but it’s the closest to reality it’s ever been. If it has to happen, it will happen soon but you know, we’ve been saying that for eight years too.”

He went on to talk about why it took so long for the reboot to get off the ground, saying:

“We don’t want to be just one of the many shows that have been rebooted in the last couple of years that probably shouldn’t have had a reboot. So if we do it, that’s the most important thing, we want to make sure it’s good. With an iconic show like the one we had, you don’t want to taint it. You want to have the same impact for the people who would like to watch it and make sure you make a good product.

There are some good examples of reboots out there that fans have enjoyed, so it’s definitely doable. Hopefully the entire cast returns and they get to tell a great story that fans will enjoy.
