Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie recently expressed his disappointment that Marvel Studios will not produce a second season The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Although he will continue to play Captain America in a new film, there are reasons why he would have preferred to continue with the series, which he calls “the perfect storm of happiness.”
During an interview with Radio Times, Mackie explained why he was so sad to say goodbye to the Disney+ series, saying:
“The Falcon and [the] Winter Soldier, I really enjoyed doing that show. I was actually excited to do a second season, as were Sebastian and I [Stan] they can get paid to go out. Because he’s like me, him and Daniel Brühl. It’s a bit like the perfect storm of happiness.
“When they decided to go back to the cinema, that was it, but I don’t have my friends anymore, so that in a way dampens the situation a bit. Whatever I can do to go out with Daniel, a Daniel Brühl dancer, I makes you very happy.”
He obviously had a lot of fun doing it The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, I wish the series had come out better. The aim was to pass the role of Captain America to Sam Wilson so that he could, however, be the protagonist of his own Captain America film.
Mackie is joined in the film by Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross, who in the story is the president of the United States. The film is also the protagonist Liv Tyler, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar, Danny RamirezAND Carl Lumbly.
Captain America: Brave New World arrives in theaters on February 14, 2025.
