Netflix has released a fantastic trailer for its drama film News in advance, based on the true behind-the-scenes story of how the BBC landed its bombshell interview with Prince Andrew as he bravely discussed his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The film is the protagonist Gillian Anderson as Emily Maitlis; Keeley Hawes as Amanda Thirsk; Billie Piper as McAlister; AND Rufus Sewell in the role of Prince Andrew. The film is directed by Philip Martino (The crown, Catherine the Great, Night sky), from a screenplay by Peter Moffatt AND Geoff Bussetil.

Inspired by real events, Netflix’s new film Scoop is a thrilling inside account of the tenacious journalism that landed a shocking interview: Prince Andrew’s (played by Rufus Sewell) infamous appearance on BBC Newsnight in 2019. From the tension of the producer of BBC Sam McAlister (played by Billie Piper) high-stakes negotiations with Buckingham Palace, through to the forensic showdown between Emily Maitlis (played by Gillian Anderson) and the forensic showdown with the Prince, Scoop takes us inside the story, with the many women who would stop at nothing understand this.
