The deleted scene comes to us thanks to the author of A masterpiece in disarray: David Lynch’s Dune, an oral history, Max Evry. She acquired the never-before-seen deleted scene during conversations she had with the actress Molly Wryn.
Wryn played Harah in the film, whose role was reduced in the final version of Dune. The actress has had the footage this whole time and sees her character explaining to Lady Jessica why the Fremen were afraid of her super-enlightened daughter Alia.
