Zack Snyder has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming sci-fi action/adventure Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scarer. This is the second part of Snyder’s epic saga, launched with Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire.
The first film ultimately wasn’t as good as I’d hoped, and many moviegoers feel the same way as the film currently has a 21% critics rating on Rotton Tomatoes and the audience score is only at 58%. Snyder addressed these reviews by saying, “I don’t really have a rebuttal to the reviews. Whatever the reason, the reaction to my films is very polarizing, and always has been. There doesn’t seem to be much in the film to justify such visceral responses.”
When previously touting the sequel, Snyder said, “It’s a war movie, 100%. There’s a lot more action than the first film, very intense and crazy action.” But bigger and better action doesn’t strengthen the story, so we’ll see.
The Scargiver “continues the epic saga of Kora (Sofia Boutella) and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave inhabitants of the Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, home to those who lost all they had in the fight against Mother Earth. On the eve of battle the warriors must face the truths of their past, each of which will reveal why they fight. As the full force of the Kingdom bears down on the growing rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, great heroes emerge and legends are born…”
The rest of the cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Ed Skrein, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huismann, Anthony Hopkins, AND Alfonso Herrera.
