This week’s retro trailer is for the wild 1970 film The itinerant executioner. The film was directed by Jack Smightand is set in 1918, and follows the story of Jonas Candide (Stacy Keach) a traveling executioner who works in the bayou.
Candide is a complex character who struggles with his conscience and the morality of his work, often feeling conflicted about taking life. As he travels from city to city in his electric chair, he encounters various individuals and situations that test his beliefs and force him to face the consequences of his actions.
I really like the idea of this film about an executioner who rides in an electric chair. It’s so interesting and unique. Enjoy the trailer
