Christopher Nolan it is at its best immediately afterwards Oppenheimer won Best Director and Best Picture at the 2024 Oscars. Now, with that chapter of his career coming to an end, fans are curious to see what the director will do next.
According to a report from Variety, Nolan is currently considering two options for his next film. One of these projects is a remake of The prisoner, Patrick McGoohan’s 1960s mystery-thriller TV series. This is a project that Nolan was actually attached to in 2009, but never moved forward. Later that year, The prisoner was developed as a series at AMC, but Nolan was not involved in it.
There is no information on what the project of the second film might be, whatever he does next, it was mentioned in the Puck newsletter that Nolan has started writing his next film. So whether it’s The Prisoner or something else, Nolan knows what he wants to do and he’s off to the races!
It was also reported that Nolan’s last payday for Oppenheimer “It’s just under $100 million.” This huge figure takes into account “salary, backend compensation, box office escalators and a bonus for his two Academy Awards.”
Speaking previously about his next film, Nolan said: “There’s a part of me that’s quite keen to move on and maybe do something, you know, not so bleak.” So maybe the next movie will be funnier. We’ll just have to wait and see.
What kind of film would you like to see Nolan make next?
