A trailer has been released for the Irish independent crime film, The Troubles: A History of Dublin, a film based on true events. The film is the protagonist Ray Malone, Adam Redmond, William Delaney, Sofia AdliAND Sarah Haydenand is written and directed by an Irish independent filmmaker Luca Hanlon, his directorial debut. It is also produced by Luke Hanlon; and co-produced by Wayne Byrne and Ani Davtyan.
The full synopsis reads:
The Troubles, a Dublin Story is a hidden story, based on the true accounts of those involved, it explores rarely discussed events during The Troubles from the perspective of two working-class brothers growing up in north Dublin in the 1970s and 1980s who, far from the horrors of the Troubles in Northern Ireland, but shocked by the atrocities they witness on television, they are naively dragged into the complex world of republicanism, gangsterism, the inevitable hypocrisy of the cause, finding themselves entangled in the personal and moral consequences that entailed .
It initially premiered at the 2022 IndieCork Festival and will now be released straight to VOD in the US on March 5th. It seems like an okay movie, but it could be a little more intense considering the story. Maybe it works better in the actual film. Check out the trailer below:
