This week’s retro trailer is for George Lucas AND Steven Spielberg-product, Don Bluthdirect animated film The land before time. Damn, I loved this movie when I was a kid! Watching this trailer flooded my head with nostalgic memories and brought tears to my eyes. So I rewatched the movie for the first time since my kids were little, and it still holds up! This is an incredible movie!
I loved films like that, which were gateways to worlds of wonder and adventure, and I thought it would be fun to hop into our cinematic time machine to revisit the original trailer that introduced us to the enchanted valleys, menacing predators, and unforgettable characters of this beloved classic.
The film transports us to a fantastic prehistoric world, following the journey of a young apatosaurus named Littlefoot. After a devastating earthquake separates him from his family, Littlefoot embarks on a quest to find the legendary Great Valley, a pristine land of abundance and hope. Along the way, he befriends other young dinosaurs: the triceratops Cera, the saurolophus Ducky, the pteranodon Petrie and the stegosaurus Spike. Together, they face numerous challenges, including predatory dinosaurs and natural dangers.
The film is a touching story of friendship, perseverance and courage, as Littlefoot and his companions face the dangers of their world, learning valuable life lessons on their journey to a new home.
