Fresh off her award-winning performance last year Barbie, America Ferrera (Ugly Betty) is taking on his next role in Paul Greengrass (United 93, Bourne’s ultimatum, Captain Phillips)-direct fire drama, The lost bus. Ferrera will star in the opposite film Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar).
The film’s screenplay was written by Brad Inglesby (Easttown Mare), and is based on the book by Lizzie Johnson Paradise: A Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Fire, about the devastating 2018 California wildfires that left more than 100 dead and destroyed most of the town of Paradise, California. At the time they became the deadliest and most destructive fires in its history. The film centers on Kevin McKay (McConaughey) and Mary Ludwig (Ferrera), a bus driver and teacher who guides a school bus full of young students through the devastating California wildfire that ravaged the town of Paradise in 2018.
The lost busan Apple Original film, will go into production this spring.
