Sylvester Stallone says ‘Don’t do your own stunts’ after never recovering from SUPPLIES injuries

Sylvester Stallone recommends that actors not perform their own stunts and this advice comes from personal experience from injuries sustained while filming the Expendablesinjuries from which he never recovered.

He offered details about it during the season 2 premiere of The Stallone family. The stunt that went wrong occurred during a scene in which Stallone was tackled by his co-star Steve Austin. Stallone left with dislocated shoulders and a fractured neck and subsequently underwent seven back surgeries with more to come. He had to have a metal plate inserted in his neck and also spinal fusions.

While talking about his need for another surgery, Stallone said: “I’ve done stupid things. I was directing Consumables and, like an idiot, I’m doing 10, take whatever, and I remember a crash and I could actually hear a bang. Steve knew it.

He added: “I never recovered [Expendables]. After that film, he was never the same physically. So I warn people, “Don’t do your own stunts.” ”

So, it makes perfect sense why Stallone is telling other actors not to do their own stunts! I would do the same thing after going through such a nightmarish experience. Speaking about his injuries and surgeries, his wife, Jennifer Flavin, said: “He doesn’t like people knowing he’s had so many back surgeries… I hope this is what will help him live a life more comfortable.”

Stallone’s daughter Scarlet added: “It’s really hard to watch my dad go through yet another painful operation. Throughout my childhood he suffered. He did everything he could to overcome the pain and be present, but I couldn’t imagine that every waking moment I was simply suffering.

These injuries led Stallone down a tough and painful road.
