JAMES BOND director Sam Mendes will direct four crossover Beatles biopics

Director Sam Mendes is set to direct an epic series of Beatles biopics. He will develop a series of four separate feature films that will connect to each other, one for each member of the band. It will be really cool and interesting to see how the stories intertwine with each other.

Sony Pictures Entertainment, Neal Street Pictures and Apple Corps produce the films, and this is the first time Apple, which handles the rights to The Beatles, has granted the rights to the story and music of a scripted film, let alone an entire series. .

Mendes will direct all four films, including one from the point of view of each band member John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo StarrAND George Harrison. Sony and Mendes had to involve McCartney, Starr and the families of Lennon and Harrison to make this series of films.

Mendes said in a statement: “I am honored to tell the story of the greatest rock band of all time and am excited to challenge the concept of what constitutes a trip to the movies.”

Sony Pictures Entertainment shared in a statement: “The film release cadence, details of which will be shared closer to release, will be innovative and groundbreaking.” I imagine that the four films will all be shot at the same time, which will be a huge undertaking.

Pippa Harris shared in a statement: “We intend for this to be a unique, thrilling and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives that tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time. To have the blessing of the Beatles and Apple Corps to do this is an immense privilege. From our first meeting with Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler, it was clear that they shared both our passion and ambition for this project, and we can’t think of a more perfect home than Sony Pictures.”

CEO of Apple Corps Ltd Jeff Jones added: “Apple Corps is delighted to partner with Sam, Pippa and Julie to explore each Beatle’s unique story and to bring them together in a suitably engaging and innovative way. Sony Pictures’ enthusiastic support, championing the project’s scope and vision creative from the start, it was invaluable to all of us.”

Tom Rothmann, President and CEO of the Motion Picture Group at Sony Pictures said: “I know I speak for our CEO Tony Vinciquerra, who was instrumental in making this happen, and every colleague at Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group all over the world when I say: ‘yeah, Yeah Yeah!’ Today’s cinematic events must be culturally seismic. Sam’s bold, large-scale vision is this and so much more. Pairing his filmmaking team with the music and stories of four young people who changed the world will shock the audiences around the world. We are deeply grateful to all parties and can’t wait to break some rules with Sam’s unique artistic vision.”

Mendes is an extraordinarily talented filmmaker and storyteller and is the perfect director to take on this challenge. I’m excited to see the finished films!
