Trailer of the documentary on William Shatner YOU CAN CALL ME BILL

Legion M has released a trailer for William Shatner’s upcoming documentary film titled You can call me Bill, which traces the life of the iconic actor. Legion M says they are “uniting fans to celebrate William Shatner’s 93rd birthday with the nationwide theatrical release of the documentary about his life.”

The film is described as “an intimate exploration of the life and career of William Shatner. From his unforgettable portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk on Star Trek to his diverse accomplishments over a 70-year career in film, television and the arts, the film captures the essence of Shatner’s journey and his extraordinary contributions to the industry. ‘entertainment. This doc was fully funded by over 1,200 fans through Legion M’s innovative “Fan-First-Financing,” which allowed people to invest as little as $100 to own a financial stake in the film and all the profits it generates.

The film is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Alexandre O. Philippe (78/52, Memory: The Origins of Alien) and looks like a solid document that Shatner fans will enjoy. The documentary is said to “strike away all the masks he has worn to embody countless characters and reveal the man behind it all.”

I was introduced to it while watching episodes of the original Star Trek series and The Twilight Zone. I’ve really enjoyed his work over the years and this should be a fun watch!

You can call me Bill will be released in select theaters starting March 22, 2024.
