The ALEX VAN HELSING trilogy of novels will be adapted as a TV series by Kit Williamson

Kit Williamson (Eastsiders) is adapting the film by author Jason Henderson Alex Van Helsing trilogy of novels into a TV series.

The series will center on a 14-year-old boy named Alex, “who has no idea that he is descended from the world’s most famous vampire hunter. This quickly changes when he arrives at Glenarvon Academy and two of his friends are kidnapped by vampires.

The project is produced by AGC Television for its children and families. I’m not familiar with the books, but they look like they would make a fun supernatural series.

Rise of the Vampires

The Name Van Helsing Reborn Fourteen-year-old Alex has no idea that he is descended from the world’s most famous vampire hunter, but things quickly change when he arrives at Glenarvon Academy and faces two vampires in his first three days. Apparently Glenarvon isn’t the only school near Lake Geneva. Hidden underground lies an ancient vampire university called Scholomance. And the deadly vampire clan lord known as Icemaker? You could say he’s a visiting professor. When two of Alex’s friends are kidnapped by Icemaker, it’s up to Alex to infiltrate the Scholomance and bring them back, alive. Assisted by the Polidorium, a top-secret vampire hunting organization with buried ties to the Van Helsings, Alex dodges zombies, bullets, and lots and lots of fangs in an attempt to thwart Icemaker’s plans and fulfill his family’s destiny.

The voice of the undead

Now that Alex knows about the deadly vampires who live and hunt in his boarding school, everything is different. Using his talent, Alex is training with the Polidorium to become a vampire hunter, just like his Van Helsing ancestors. Sure, he’s only fourteen, but come on: this runs in his blood.

But Alex wonders if he will live long enough to succeed. His archenemy Elle, a vampire whose youthful appearance and blond hair mask a rage directed at him, is ready to take him before a powerful leader called Ultravox arrives on the scene. Ultravox specializes in assassinations, but who is it targeting? While dodging Elle’s attacks, Alex is on a mission to uncover Ultravox’s deadly plan before his friends and his school become collateral damage. There is no time to report; Innocent lives hang in the balance, and it’s up to Alex to act now or else.

The Triumph of Death

Within months of discovering that he is the next in a long line of vampire hunters, Alex Van Helsing has already defeated two powerful vampire leaders. Not bad for a fourteen year old.

But when a newly resurrected vampire queen threatens the fate of the world, Alex faces his deadliest challenge yet. Teaming up with a biker witch, Alex flies between Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Spain in a frantic race to stop the queen from unleashing a curse that will plunge the world into darkness.

Williamson also recently wrote the Netflix musical comedy University entrainmentand a film adaptation of the novel Field for Maxwith Billie Porter attached to direct and star. It is currently in development The Heralds of Valdemar for universal television.
