Netflix has released a 4-minute making-of from the live-action series adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The video takes us behind the scenes and features interviews with the cast and crew talking about the project and what we can expect from it. It looks like it could be a good show and we’ll see if it will actually be available soon when it releases. I hope they managed to pull it off.
The main cast of the series features: Gordon Cormier as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, Ian Ousley like Sokka, too Dallas Liu as Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee like Iroh, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari, Ken Leung like Zhao.
Waterfall. Earth. Fire. Air. The four nations once lived in harmony, with the Avatar, master of all four elements, maintaining peace among them. But everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked and wiped out the Air Nomads, the firebenders’ first step toward world conquest. With the current incarnation of the Avatar yet to emerge, the world has lost hope. But like a light in the darkness, hope arises when Aang (Gordon Cormier), a young Air Nomad – and the last of his kind – awakens to take his rightful place as the next Avatar. Together with his new friends Sokka (Ian Ousley) and Katara (Kiawentiio), brothers and members of the Southern Water Tribe, Aang embarks on a fantastic action-packed mission to save the world and combat the fearsome onslaught of the Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). With a crown prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) determined to capture them, it will be no easy task. They will need the help of many allies and colorful characters they meet along the way.
The creative team behind the series includes Alberto Kim (The sleeping valley), who is writing the series and serving as showrunner. Kim will also be the executive producer of the show Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, Michele GoiAND Roseanne Liang. The directors of the series include Jabar RaisaniGoi and Liang.
The series will premiere on February 22, 2024.
