Here’s a fun trailer for a new horror movie called Sting, which centers on a 12-year-old girl whose pet spider quickly transforms into a giant flesh-eating monster, forcing the girl to fight for her family’s survival. This is sure to provide horror fans with great entertainment, especially if you’re afraid of spiders! Seriously though, I’m excited to watch this movie!
Sting was directed by Kiah Roache-Turner (Wyrmwood series) and becomes the protagonist Ryan Corr, Alyla Browne, Penelope Mitchell, Robyn Nevin, Noni Hazelhurst, Silvia Colloca, Danny KimAND Jermaine Fowler. Here is the synopsis of the film:
On a cold and stormy night in New York, a mysterious object falls from the sky and smashes through the window of a dilapidated apartment building. It’s an egg, and from this egg emerges a strange little spider…
The creature is discovered by Charlotte, a rebellious twelve-year-old obsessed with comics. Despite her stepfather Ethan’s best efforts to connect with her through their co-creation of Fang Girl comics, Charlotte feels isolated. Her mother and Ethan are distracted by their new baby and struggle to cope, leaving Charlotte to bond with the spider. Keeping him as a secret pet, she names him Sting.
As Charlotte’s fascination with Sting increases, so does her size. Growing at a monstrous rate, Sting’s appetite for blood becomes insatiable. Neighbors’ pets begin to disappear, and then the neighbors themselves. Soon Charlotte’s family and the palace’s eccentric characters realize they are all trapped, hunted by a ravenous giant arachnid with a taste for human flesh… and Charlotte is the only one who knows how to stop him.
Sting will be in North American theaters on April 12.
