I hope the TRANSFORMERS producer doesn’t keep his promise that the GI JOE crossover movie will get made

I still think about it when GI Joe is introduced at the end of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is the stupidest and laziest way to bring these two franchises together. But, according to the manufacturer Lorenzo di Bonaventurathat’s the direction they’re going and in a recent interview with CB, he promises that the crossover will happen.

When asked when audiences can expect to see the film, he responded, “The truth is, I don’t know. I know we’re going to keep the promise we made.”

This is a promise I hope they don’t keep because they need to scrap everything and rethink their entire strategy with these franchises. I know exactly what they need to do, but apparently these people in charge of running a major studio can’t figure it out and keep making the wrong decisions.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously shared that they never really have a plan for this crossover, saying, “We don’t plan that far in advance. We react to what the audience reacts to, so in a way we can please them, but in a way it doesn’t seem fresh. We expect there to be some loyalty and for them to go on some sort of mission together.”

This is why these movies keep getting worse and worse. It’s like they wanted to keep this superhero and comic book movie fatigue alive. The way these people handle things is crazy to me.

The producer also teased the closest thing to a plan they have available, saying: “Like every other Transformers movie, the ingredients of the movie are humans and robots coming together to stop the bad guy. The Joes will be part of the ingredients now .” . We won’t come into Joe’s world, they will come into our world. So if you think about it that way, I think that’s the closest thing to the plan that we have. Now we have to figure out the plot we want to do, et cetera, but we will actively participate, if you will, some characters, in trying to stop the bad guy.”

They should have started from scratch on both franchises and made some GI Joe movies and some Transformers movies that all lead to a crossover. But right now they’re just throwing a bunch of bullshit at the wall and hoping something sticks.

This whole thing just makes me sad because I know how incredibly great and successful these franchises really can be.
