Emily Blunt Talks EDGE OF TOMORROW 2 Still Saying “It Could Be Good”

A couple of months ago, Emily Blunt open about the long-awaited Edge of tomorrow followed by saying that the script wouldn’t work today. Well, she was recently asked about it again during an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and now he says it might be good, but he thinks they should rework what they have. She explained:

“It could be cool. I think when we first talked about a sequel it was right before I was going to do Mary Poppins, so it was a while ago. I think if we were going to do one, we’d have to reimagine that what would have happened.” the sequel would be similar.”

With Tom Cruise now teamed up with Warner Bros. there’s a real possibility that this sequel could actually happen. But no project has been announced at the moment.

Matthew Robinson (The invention of lies) proposed a version of the story that the studio liked and wrote the initial draft of the screenplay. Liman previously said that he liked the story of the sequel more than that of the first film and explained that he would revolutionize the way people make sequels. He also said: “we will make it if we really believe in it. We have a story that the three of us love, so we’re working hard on the script.”

The sequel’s story picks up right where the last film left off, but will then go back in time. The director had already provided details in a previous interview, saying: “I think what people tend to do with sequels is just make them bigger. And I said, “No, a sequel should be smaller.” You made the first movie as a sort of hype for the sequel, so now you don’t need as much action, and in the case of Edge of Tomorrow, people obviously loved the comedy and loved the situation… so we can do that there’s a lot more focus on Tom’s character and Emily Blunt’s character, and there’s a third character in the sequel who will definitely steal the movie. He went on to say, “It’s mostly not going to take place on the battlefield, so there’s a whole new arena of fighting that we’re going to be doing using a lot of technology, but also, because it’s a prequel, it’s very much the precursor.” things.
