A new trailer has been released for the limited World War II drama series We were the lucky oneshero Joey King (The act, High speed train) AND Logan Lerman (The perks of Being a Wallflower). The series is based on Georgia Hunter bestselling novel of the same name, and is written and produced by Erica Lipez (Julia, The Morning Show), who also serves as showrunner. Thomas Kail (Fosse/Verdon) directs and executive produces alongside Jennifer Todd, who serves as executive producer for Old 320 Sycamore.
We were the lucky ones is “inspired by the incredible true story of a Jewish family separated at the start of World War II, determined to survive and reunite,” according to the official synopsis. “The series demonstrates how, in the face of the darkest moment of the twentieth century, the human spirit can endure and even thrive. The series is a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds.”
The series is also the protagonist Hadas Yaron, Henry-Lloyd Hughes, Amit Rahav, Sam Woolf, Michael Aloni, Moran Rosenblatt, Eva Feiler, Lior AshkenaziAND Robin Weigert.
We were the lucky ones will premiere on Hulu with three episodes on March 28, and new episodes will launch weekly. Watch the trailer below:
