Andor Season 2 production has finished! Diego Lunawho plays Cassian Andor in the Lucasfilm series, made the announcement on Instagram and shared the following statement:
“Today is the last day of filming Andor. I couldn’t be more grateful to the entire crew for this amazing experience and years of hard work. More than 700 people worked on this production, and it is impossible to greet and thank everyone individually, which is why I am writing here. THANK YOU for the love and wonderful experience. Until we meet again.”
The fans are thrilled Andor Season 2 because season 1 was so damn good! It had such strong storytelling and character development, and I hope the greatness continues into season two.
Season 2 will conclude the series and take us through the years Diego LunaCassian Andor’s journey as a spy for the Rebellion and how he tracked down the secret to the construction of the Death Star. The story leads directly to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Creator Tony Gilroy he previously teased the series’ end, sharing that the creative team knows “exactly where we’re going” and that it was “creatively powerful” to know where the story is going. She said: “If you know your ending, it really helps. We know exactly where we are going. You know what you have to deliver emotionally and what the story has to do with it. It’s a survival decision, but it’s good for us creatively.”
Gilroy explained how the story will unfold in the final season of the series by saying, “When we come back later, it will literally be like a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And then we’ll skip a year, and then it’ll be, like, four or five days, and then we’ll skip a year, and then it’ll be another four or five days, and then we’ll skip a year, and it’ll be another four or five days. I don’t know if anyone has ever done this before because I don’t know if anyone has had the chance to do this before. We are in the brand new era of making these shows. These shows are all new. This whole idea of how to make these shows and their economic reach is new, and everything is new.
Every three episodes in Andor Season two will cover a year of history and, previously speaking about what we can expect from the series, he explains that it will explore the stress, pain and triumphs of the growing rebellion: “Think about the revolution, and think about it from Luthen Rael’s point of view, from Saw Gerrera’s point of view and Mon Mothma’s point of view. They started out as original gangsters in this thing, and it’s underground, and it’s secret, and it’s small, and it’s isolated, and contained. In four years, it’s going to be big. Think of any restaurant you knew that started as a coffee shop, think of any startup company. What happens? Things get very complicated. If the actions and trading of your business are paranoia, secrecy, betrayal and heavy consequences, expand your business It’s really difficult.”
Gilroy went on to say, “So think about it from the Imperial side and they’re getting very, very close to a very major energy project. People may have heard about it. It’s an energy project. I guess it’s not a surprise, but I think you’ll see the wear and tear, you’ll see all the stress and all the pain and all the triumph of the 20 or 30 people that we’re bringing forward, with Cassian at the center. Those people stumble into a very complicated chaos and story that we’re going to pay attention to.
He added: “We will work on the calendar. There are events in our calendar and you know what they are, some of them, and they are very important, and we will play them.”
