Scott M. Gimple was on board AMC’s hit drama series Walking Dead since it started in 2010. The flagship show lasted eleven seasons and its previous spin-offs that have already ended include Fear the walking dead, World beyondAND Tales of The Walking Dead. Current and future spin-offs include the highly anticipated Those who livethat will finally reunite Rick (Andrea Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira); Daryl Dixonwhich will return for the second season with the subtitle The Book of Carol; Dead city with Negan and Maggie; and More Tales From the Walking Dead Universe was also announced.
Gimple managed to make this work last beyond the end of the original show, and says that if he could do it his way, he’d like to reunite the original cast members in a big crossover event.
Gimple explained to TV line:
“So when it comes to something like that [an Avengers: Endgame-style, all-series crossover event]yes, I dream of combining all this together, and I have put some breadcrumbs towards that, but you never know exactly when and how [it will come together], for a number of reasons. Dead City is a vibrant show, Daryl [Dixon] It’s a vibrant show, this [The Ones Who Live] it’s… I’ll just say I’m building these paths, but there could be all kinds of pivots along the path that will change that. So I guess the answer is YES…?”
We’ll just have to wait and see how these individual stories develop and whether a crossover can happen, and while we wait, The Walking Dead: Those Who Live is headed our way, starting with AMC and AMC+ on February 25th.
