Jason Blum Wants to Recruit GODZILLA MINUS ONE Director Takashi Yamazaki to Direct a Blumhouse Film

Not only was it Godzilla minus one a great film and a huge box office success, but it also put a strain on the writer and director Takashi Yamazaki on Hollywood’s radar. The guy made an incredible movie and there is no doubt that all the big studios in Hollywood will want to meet him for potential film projects. I have no doubt that he has already met some of them.

Producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse was a big fan Godzilla minus one, and in a recent interview expressed his desire to recruit Yamazaki to direct one of their films. She had this to say to recent event:

“Of all the movies I saw last year, the one I liked the most was Godzilla [Minus One]. It’s a really great movie that made me so jealous. At the heart of each of our films is a unique and compelling family drama. What I loved about Godzilla was his unusual family dynamic… Their relationship was something I had never seen before.”

The producer then revealed that he was planning a meeting with Yamazaki in the near future and said:

“I’ll meet the director. With any luck, I’ll be able to convince him to make a film with Blumhouse.”

The big question is… what movie would Yamazaki make for Blumhouse? Does Blum have a project in mind for him, or will Yamazaki be able to pitch his ideas for a film he’d like to make there?

Blumhouse Productions makes its films on modest budgets, and considering Yamazaki’s team, they did Godzilla minus one with around 10 million dollars, the director knows how to make a great film on a limited budget and maintaining high quality.

Yamazaki will be bombarded with directing offers and will end up being a very busy guy. I just hope he eventually returns to make the sequel Godzilla minus onewhich will eventually happen.
